Posted Date: 11/10/25 (3:30 PM)

Dear Students, Families, and Staff,
As we move through another exciting week in our district. Together, we strengthen our school communities by connecting, participating, and celebrating our students’ achievements.
May we all take a moment this week to get involved and continue building the supportive environments our children deserve.

Thank you for all you do to make our schools thrive!

Page: Rim's Edge of Excellence Weekly Kickoff. November 10th to November 15th, 2025. Grateful at Our Schools: In every class, in every hall,
There’s thankfulness that fills us all. From lessons learned to friendships near, we’re grateful for our schools this year. Together we learn, together we grow,
With hearts of kindness, we let it show. This Thanksgiving, we proudly say, 'We’re thankful for our schools every day!'
Page: ROWUSD would like to take a moment to honor and express our heartfelt gratitude to all District Veterans for their service and sacrifice. Your courage, dedication, and selflessness have safeguarded the freedoms we enjoy today. We are proud to have heroes among our community—your commitment to our nation and our students continues to inspire us every day. Thank you for your service and for the example you set for future generations.
To Our Staff Who Served: “The Heart of a Hero”
In classrooms now, where lessons bloom,
Once echoed boots through dust and gloom.
You traded arms for open hands,
To guide young hearts, to help them stand.
Your service shaped both near and far,
 Your courage shines—our guiding star.
From duty’s call to each new day,
We see your strength in every way.
Thank you for the life you give,
For showing us what it means to live—
With honor, hope, and steadfast pride,
Our veterans stand by our side.

Donations can be sent with your student or dropped off at the school office. Please ensure that all items are labeled “For the Troops.” A few donation ideas include: Candy, Pretzels, Cookies, Top Ramen, Protein bars, Earbuds, Toiletries, and Notes of Gratitude. Page: VOE Newsletter, 111/10 - 11/14. 2025. Avoid Power Struggles by Offering Choices. Power struggles with elementary-age children can be exhausting and rarely productive. A simple way to prevent them is to give your child choices rather than issuing orders.  When children feel they have some control, they're more likely to cooperate and take responsibility. Try these ideas: 1) Offer only choices you can live with. "Would you like to do your reading now or after dinner?" 2) Be clear about limits: "You may choose when to do your math, but no screen time until school work is done". 3) Accept your child's choice calmly and move on.  Remember, the goal isn't to make your child happy every time-it's to help them learn independence and positive decision-making. Comin up: 11/10 and 11/11: Veteran's Day Observance, 11/12-Minimum day dismissal at 1:20 pm, 11/13: LCAP Educational Partners Meeting at 5:30 pm, 11/15: Saturday School, 11/17: 5th Grade to 1000 Pines, 11/18: SSC Meeting, 11/19: Minimum Day dismissal at 1:20 pm,  11/20: Paint the Plow, 11/20: Family Engagement Night, 11/21: Report Cards go Home, 11/24 to 11/28: Thanksgiving Break. Rooted Together-Rooted Together is a community-centered initiative designed to strengthen and uplift local families by promoting positive values, emotional resilience, and connection through inclusive messaging. Month-November-Value/Virtue-Kindness. Focus Area Description: Caring, compassion, and everyday acts of respect and support.  Weekly focus: use kind words, help others, include others, encourage friends, and do random acts of kindness.
