Principal, Jaclyn Loncteaux

Hello LAE, and welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am happy to be joining the LAE family as your new principal. First and foremost, I would like to welcome back all of our staff, students and families and welcome those that are joining us for the first time! I attended kindergarten through senior year through ROWUSD and I am excited for this opportunity to come back home. My own children will attend LAE and I am dedicated to helping to educate in our community. Building relationships is one of my priorities this year so please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I look forward to an engaging, innovative, and goal-oriented school year where everyone continues to work on their educational and personal growth! LAE houses some of the most caring, committed, and experienced staff that I have had the pleasure of working with over the years and I know that our students will continue to thrive during the upcoming school year.

The last few years have been a challenge for us all after returning to school after distance learning and our weather difficulties. LAE’s staff is committed to creating a safe school environment where we attempt to meet the academic and social emotional needs of all
students, and we are a team and that requires the involvement of families. Since we are a Leader in Me school, focused on the 7+1 Habits of Happy (Highly Effective) Kids, we encourage leadership in all places, starting at home. We have various opportunities for you to get involved with your child’s education; School Site Council, PTA, volunteering, and practicing the 7+1 habits in your own home.

Our students will continue to have a curriculum that is geared towards 21st century learning that is collaborative, creative, involves critical thinking, and encourages a growth mindset. Here at LAE we believe in the power of “yet” when it comes to personal and academic goals. We have worked hard to provide a safe school environment by following the schoolwide expectations of being safe, respectful, and responsible.

We believe communication is a key to success and you will receive communication from LAE via ParentSquare, Class Dojo, updates on our school website, and various flyers. I look forward to the new school year, to be able to get to know each of the students here at LAE and their families. Thank you for trusting us with your students and know that we will do our very
best to continue with our mission:

L: Lifelong Leaders and Learners
A: Achieving our academic and personal goals, where
E: Everyone has genius
